Dawson Creek Hosting Northern Female Jamboree
Friday, February 10, 2017

BC Hockey’s 2016-2017 Northern Female Jamboree will take place at Memorial Arena in Dawson Creek, BC from March 31, 2017 – April 2, 2017 in partnership with the Dawson Creek Minor Hockey Association (MHA) and the KFC Old Posts senior hockey team.

Funded in part thanks to a legacy fund from the 2012 National U18 Women’s Championship that was held in Dawson Creek, the Northern Female Jamboree will be a celebration of all things female hockey.

Sheldon Wilkinson, President of Dawson Creek MHA, said, “Dawson Creek is a great hockey community, and this jamboree will give us a chance to show people how big female hockey is here. It will be a great opportunity for female players from all over the north to come together and have a fun weekend playing hockey.”

The event will feature an opening ceremony, team building events, off-ice games, on and off-ice skills sessions, and a small round-robin tournament with an emphasis on fun.

Registration is open to female players aged five (5) to 12. Players will register individually and be placed on teams based on age, experience, and skill level. Registration for players is $50, while registration for coaches is free. Each participant will receive a jersey and gift from BC Hockey, as well as a Friday night dinner and Saturday lunch from the KFC Old Posts senior hockey team. The registration deadline is March 17, 2017.
