News and Announcements
Friendly notification to all our returning members that DCMHA has implemented a returnee player registration deadline for the 2016/2017 hockey season.
Due to the many aspects that go in to finding coaches, building teams, securing ice time and league registration DCMHA has put a deadline in place of the date of September 15th 2016 for returning players to register. It is our goal to provide the best situation for all our members and to do this we need to manage our roster sizes and teams.
This does not mean we will not accept registrations, however after this deadline we cannot guarantee it’s acceptance. Any players registered after this date will be subject to approval based on roster sizes within our recreational program.
Peewee Rep – Peewee Rep tryouts will begin on Monday August 29th All players wishing to register for tryouts for the Peewee Rep team must be registered by Friday August 26th.
Atom Development, Bantam Rep and Midget Rep- Will begin on either Tuesday September 6th or Wednesday September 7th. All Players wishing to tryout will be required to be registered by Monday September 5th. Please refer to the ice schedule.
For players from out of town wishing to tryout please remember you must be registered with your home association prior to registering for tryouts with DCMHA. If you wish to attend tryouts in Dawson Creek, please contact the DCMHA office or email for further information.
Please be sure to confirm your tryout registration if you haven’t recieved any communication from your prosepctive coach prior to the first day of tryouts.
On behalf of DCMHA we would like to congratulate the following coaches on being selected for the 2016/2017 Season.
Atom Development – Sheldon Wilkinson
Peewee Rep – Mike Harris

Midget Rep – John Wilson/Chris Webber
Thank you for volunteering your time to DCMHA and the players and good luck throughout the season.

Taylor Minor Hockey will be hosting another Gold in the Net “Goalie” mini camp on October 1st and 2nd 2016.
I have included a brochure to hand out to your goalies, and a flyer to hang up in your Arena, to promote this fantastic weekend mini camp!
Camp cost is $250 which includes hot lunches a GITN jersey, plus a added bonus of a dry land training session each day!
The camp is great for goalie’s of all ages! We have divided into 2 groups this year to separate the younger and the older goalies so that in each groups (age appropriate) program we will be teaching functional training exercises with specific movement patterns and speeds that they will be using in hockey, so that they may function on a higher athletic level during hockey games. These activities will address all 6 skill related components of fitness: agility, coordination, reaction time, speed, power, and balance.
